The privacy of your personal information is of paramount importance to us and we treat any details that you supply us with care. We will only use and record the personal information you provide to us in accordance with the Data Protection Act. We will not sell any information about you to any other party.

What types of information do we collect?

If you wish to place an order, sign up for our newsletter, enter a competition or give us feedback then you will need to provide us with certain details, which may include your name, gender, e-mail address, delivery address and telephone number.

We use a third party, PayPal, to process payments for orders placed on our website. When you wish to pay for an order with us you will be redirected to one of PayPal's secure payment servers; this is apparent when the address of the web page you are viewing changes from www.jewelvision.co.uk to www.paypal.com. Paypal is certified by all the major card issuers to hold details securely. At no time do we at Jewel Vision need to know your payment details, nor are we able to retrieve them from the PayPal payment system. Your payment details are therefore under the protection of PayPal's privacy policy.

When you click a link on our website to view another page, for example a description of a product or a special offer, we log this click for various purposes. We may, for example, use this information to measure the interest in a certain product or assess the success of a special offer. We also use these click-logs to create a Recently Viewed Products list to help you navigate around our site. Furthermore, we may use these click-logs to provide you with a Recommended Products list tailored to your tastes. If you subscribe to our e-mail newsletter, we may use this information to customise its content to the products that we think will interest you most.

There are a number of tools that are designed to help you visit websites anonymously. By using these tools our systems will be unable to identify you when you visit our website, so we will not be able to provide you with a personalised experience, but we at least want you to be aware that they exist.

Alternatively, click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of the newsletter e-mails you receive.

We may also use your personal information to contact you if we change anything important about how the website works, or the terms of use of the website.

What happens if my personal details change?

We encourage you to keep your personal information up-to-date so that we may continue to provide you with a high-quality and accurate service. You can update your personal information easily through the My Account section of the website.

Will we share your personal information with anyone else?

We pass your name, e-mail address and delivery address details on to PayPal, our payment provider, when you click to visit our secure checkout. You can only proceed to the checkout if you are logged in, so if you are not registered with Jewel Vision then this will not apply to you. PayPal uses these details to auto-fill its payment forms to save you typing them again - you will need to fill in these forms before PayPal processes your payment anyway.

How long will we keep your information for?

We will only keep your personal information for as long as necessary and consistent with the purpose for which you have given it to us. Except where needed to respond to a query from you or fulfil an order, we will delete your personal information if you request it by e-mail.

How do we use 'cookies' on the website?

When you register with our website we will send a cookie to your computer. A cookie is a small file that can be placed on your computer's hard disk for record-keeping purposes.
